Privacy Policy

Yemerica FC ("we", "us") is a recreational Saturday indoor soccer club in Taylor, Michigan, run by volunteers. This policy explains what information yemericafc.com collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What the site does

The site publishes each week's teams, fixtures and results, along with player statistics. Anyone can view it without an account. Club admins and scorekeepers sign in to set up matchdays and record results.

Information we collect

About players

• Your name, and a nickname if you have one.
• Which team you played for each week, and match events recorded by our scorekeepers: goals, assists, yellow and red cards, and warnings.
• A private skill rating that admins set to balance teams. It is only visible to club admins and is never shown on the public site.

Player names, teams and statistics are shown publicly on the site.

About admins and scorekeepers

• Google sign-in: when you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account ID with us. We use your email address to check that you are on the club's staff list and to keep you signed in. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, your contacts or any other Google data.
• Email sign-in links: if you sign in with an emailed link instead, we use your email address to send it.

Technical information

Our hosting providers keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request, to keep the site secure and working.

Cookies

We set one cookie to remember that you entered the club password on your device, and sign-in cookies for admins and scorekeepers. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use information

• To publish teams, fixtures, results and statistics.
• To balance teams fairly each week.
• To let staff sign in and keep the admin area secure.

We do not sell, rent or share personal information for advertising or marketing.

Google user data

Yemerica FC's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information from Google sign-in is used only to sign you in to this site, is not shared with anyone else, and is not used for advertising.

Service providers

We use a few providers to run the site. They process information only on our behalf:

• Supabase: database and sign-in.
• Vercel: website hosting.
• Google: sign-in, only if you choose to use it.

How long we keep information

Match statistics are kept as the club's history. Staff accounts are kept until the person is removed from the staff list or asks us to delete their account. Server logs are kept by our hosting providers for a limited time.

Your choices

• Players can ask us to show a nickname instead of their name, or to remove their statistics.
• Admins and scorekeepers can ask us to delete their account.
• Anyone can ask what information we hold about them.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child's information is on the site, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Access to the admin area is limited to invited staff, skill ratings are restricted to admins at the database level, and all traffic to the site is encrypted with HTTPS.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
